Lanier Technical College – Academic Building

Barrow County Campus, Winder, Georgia

Wakefield Beasley & Associates served as the associate architect with Pond & Company in designing Lanier Technical College’s new campus in Barrow County. The campus is 65,000 GSF on 20-acres and required some unique design features that a traditional campus did not have. Among these special requirements were 22 welding stations with the added ability to teach robotic welding and nine automotive bays for the Automotive Technology Lab. The new campus offers education for Industrial Technology, CIS, Legal Accounting, Criminal Justice, Drafting, Business Administration, Public Service Technology (Early Childhood), Allied Health (Clinical Lab, Physical Lab, Medical Assist) and Welding. In addition to the educational labs and classrooms the campus also required spaces for Student Services, Administrative Offices and a Library.
