In order to modernize the 25 year old facility, WBA provided architectural design services for an extensive renovation and expansion. The client has modernized this hospital by adding state-of-the art operating theaters, imaging facilities, patient rooms and rehabilitation equipment. With the modernization, this facility has gained community awareness and is successfully attracting patients from surrounding areas.

Phase I involved a 10,000 square foot addition. This addition provides five new operating rooms, a multi-functional room that can be used as an OR or Cath Lab, six pre-op beds, and ten post-op beds. Design work completed includes implementing all new support services such as the vacuum room & pump room, laundry services, surgical support areas, clean rooms, and a decontamination room.

Overlapping Phase I construction was Phase II design of 11,250 sf service areas. The facility offers MRI service, X-ray services, physical therapy, and ultrasound services. In addition, the expanded facility includes a rehabilitation gym, a new ER, business offices, support offices, and a new hospital entrance. This phase also included replacement & upgrade of the HVAC system in the existing building.

Once all phases of the project are complete, the facility will have expanded to include five new operating rooms with supporting PACU, clean rooms, storage & laundry facility, new med-gas and vacuum pump system, 2,500 sf rehabilitation gym with separate OT/PT areas, 8,000 sf medical office suites and doctor’s offices and administrative areas.
