Kurt Ehlers Named Director of Business of Business Development

Alpharetta, Ga. (June 23, 2016) – Wakefield Beasley & Associates (WBA), a privately owned architectural design and planning firm, announced Kurt Ehlers, LEED AP, has been hired as the company’s new Director of Business Development.
Ehlers has extensive experience in the architecture and construction industries, particularly in project management, design and development, as well as an impressive track record in sales management.
As Director of Business Development, Ehlers will take the lead in advancing the company’s strategic sales initiatives in several key markets, including retail/mixed-use, corporate/commercial, industrial, senior living and multi-family housing.
“Kurt brings a wealth of knowledge in marketing and business development, and a reputation for building strong relationships with clients,” said WBA President John Beasley. “His experience and leadership will certainly help us build stronger partnerships with existing clients and enhance our opportunities to work with new clients.”
Most recently, Ehlers worked as the Area Manager of Mitsubishi Electric Cooling & Heating where he worked closely with HVAC contractors, engineers, architects, owners, developers, and distributor branches. Previously, he worked in sales and business development with Boland Trane and F&S Mechanical and Plumbing Services.
Ehlers also previously served as a Nuclear Electronics Technician with the U.S. Navy. He received his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Auburn University and a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Maryland. He serves on the executive board as a founding member of Georgia Built, is involved in the Atlanta chapter of ASHRAE and is a volunteer coach for West Forsyth Youth Lacrosse.
